Nightgowns, water, earth and air have become enduring visual metaphors in my work. Specifically, nightgowns represent the soul, while water, earth and air act as vehicles for travel onto the next plane of physical existence or to a higher level of consciousness.
Through the Transmigration series I have endeavored to capture and create images that evoke senses of mystery and fate, relying less on the supernatural and more on the metaphysical.
Always attracted to the dreamy, eerie and disturbing, my desire is for viewers to react to Transmigration with anxiety, tension and puzzlement, ultimately surrendering to feelings of hope, peace and serenity.
As an ongoing series, there is no end in sight for Transmigration.
